Lead is a stylish scooter by ace manufacturer Honda. This scooter showcases a beautiful sleek design along with good features. The subtle combination between a modern design and classic concepts follows through its design. A trendy LED spotlight and high-end panels create a prominent V symbol front giving it a sleek and stylish look and feel. The Honda Engineers have given a lightweight design and comfort features to make this scooter ideal for both men and women.
Design
The Lead follows a minimalistic design with a smooth sculpted design. The scooter has a thin light weight body design making it easy and comfortable to ride. A Honda logo is engraved on the side of the scooter near the foot rests and the LEAD logo comes at the rear sides panel completing the design cues of this scooter.
Honda decided not to give any trendy graphics and this makes this scooter perfect for any ages.
Instrument Cluster
A smart liquid crystal display is provided that shows all the necessary parameters such as speed, cruise, fuel level and oil change indicator, which makes it easy for the driver to observe and monitor the scooter giving peace of mind while using it in and around the city and on highways.
Fuel Tank
A Front side Fuel tank makes it easy to refuel the Honda Lead. Most of the scooter follows a conventional way of having an under-seat fuel tank which is considerably hard to use.
But Honda has decided to make this easy with the front side fuel tank making it easy and comfortable to use.
Multi Key
The Honda Lead showcased a Multi Key Lock Key that operates electric locks, Handle locks and saddle locks - for increased safety, ease of use.
The key is made of effective anti-corrosion material to prevent any deterioration. Opening and closing the fuel tank is more convenient than since the two switches are integrated into the same button next to the key pad.
The footrest is large, flat, comfortable to drive. In addition, the floor surface to the feet are patterned anti-slip slippery feet
Smart Side Stand
A Smart Side Stand is present in the lead which enables the scooter to shut off the engine temporarily when it stops for more than 3 seconds and is restarted smoothly as soon as the throttle is given without pressing the start button, which saves fuel and reduces emissions. The engine will also stop working as soon as the lower foot peg is lowered and only works when the foot rests on, allowing the user not to forget the foot pad when starting the scooter.
Luxurious Tail Lamp
A High-definition LEDs tail lamps are provided in this scooter which is used for tail lights and brake lights, providing a stylish and contemporary look for the rear end.
LED tail lamp provides more visibility in all lighting conditions making the scooter safer while riding through any places without proper illumination.
Storage
Unlike many scooters that come with a small storage space, the Honda Lead comes with a huge under-seat storage of 37 litres. It is good for storing two helmets, college books, handbags and a few other things safely under its seat.
Engine
The Honda Lead is powered by a 108.00 cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke OHC engine with fuel injection technology. The FI system makes sure that the combustion inside the cylinder is complete and gives more fuel efficiency and provides fewer emissions.
The engine produces a maximum power of 11.33 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 11.6 NM torque @ 5000 rpm. The engine of the Honda Lead is refined to give better power and torque at all speeds. The engine is responsive at higher speeds and provides smooth riding comfort.
Braking and Suspension
It comes with a front disc brake while the gearbox stays automatic like all conventional Honda scooters. It uses a semi-digital instrument console while its dry weight tips the scale at 115 kg.
Treadless tires are provided which in turn will help the driver to feel more secure. In addition, the rim of the Honda Lead uses environmentally friendly, durable materials.
Colour and Availability
The Honda lead is available in three shades; White, Black, and Dark Maroon.
Honda is yet to officially announced about when the launch of Lead in India will happen. But if it's launched it will compete with scooter rivals like Suzuki Access 125 and Mahindra Gusto 125. We can hope that Honda will showcase this stylish scooter in the upcoming Auto Expo 2018.
